Abstract

The Chinese refining and chemical industry account for the percentage of GNP over 15%. CNPC, Sinopec, CNOOC, Chinese chemical, Shenhua Group are the Top 500 enterprises in the world. But in the oil refining and chemical industry, there still exists a lot of problems, such as the low level of automation, the unsmooth operation, the frequent safety accidents, and the high energy consumption. We proposed some new operation concept and strategies to solve these problems the oil refining devices: ¡°the whole-process automation¡±, ¡°one-key operation¡± and ¡°black-screen operation¡±. At present, the technology has been widely applied to more than 1/3 production devices of Chinese oil refining and chemical plant, and has brought enormous economic benefits.

Biography

Francesco BulloProfessor, doctoral tutor, and the director of Automation Research Institute of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, the executive director of the China automation in petroleum and chemical industry association application. The referee for the National Science and Technology Progress Award and Jiangsu, Zhejiang province science and technology progress award. He has published more than 200 papers in the academic journals as the first author. In the recent three years, he has published more than 30 papers indexed by SCI as the first author in IEEE Transactions, ISA Transactions, Journal of Process Control, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Journal of automation, etc. Since 2000, he has lead more than 10 vertical research projects from Ministry of Science and Technology ("863"), National Natural Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, Beijing Government, the CNPC, Sinopec. He has won 5 provincial or ministerial awards for scientific and technical progress, where 2 awards are the first place. He has obtained nearly 20 invention patents, utility model patents and software certification. The research results have been applied to more than 300 sets of large production devices in the domestic large-scale petrochemical enterprises. The total research funding is over one hundred million Yuan, and the research results have brought tens of billions of economic benefits.
